The fraternal system in the United States is about to embark on a massive transition — one that may save lives, prevent injury, and minimize the humiliation that often goes along with pledging one of its organizations. Sigma Alpha Epsilon, one of the largest fraternities, has cried “uncle.” The weight of deaths and destruction, accompanied by lawsuits and exorbitant insurance premiums has caused SAE to slam the door on pledging.
